             <description><![CDATA[<div>Thanks.</p><p></p><p>OK, your camera has a &quot;low pass filter&quot; just in front of the sensor - it's this you clean when needs must. Anyway, this filter is designed to block UV and IR light. Some low pass filters are better than others. The &quot;better&quot; the low pass filter, the longer the exposure takes in IR.</p><p></p><p>This shot was taken on my D50 which has a pretty poor low pass filter and the shutter speed for this is about 2 seconds. Taking this same shot on my D90 would probably take about 20-30 seconds. The D90 has a stronger low pass filter than the D50</p><p></p><p>Anyway, a converted camera has the manufacturers low pass filter removed and replaced with one that allows IR light to pass. Conversion usually costs between £200 &amp; £300 so it's not for everyone.</p><p></p><p>Take a look at the IR groups.
